Our Services

what we offer

Plastecowood receives plastic waste, predominantly but not exclusively, from household collections and reprocesses the plastic to produce recycled plastic lumber - planks, boards and profiles primarily for external uses. We call this range of high endurance, long-life products Smartawood ™.

Applications for Smartawood include:

  • fencing
  • pallets
  • boardwalks
  • steps and stairs
  • decked areas
  • platforms
  • stages
  • picnic tables
  • playground areas
  • demarcation
  • gravel and kick boards
  • raised beds and planters
  • bollards
  • boxes
  • carriers
  • cases
  • decking support
  • 'and much more....

In fact almost anywhere that timber is used externally, Plastecowood’s Smartawood range can be beneficially employed.

Provenance and Location

Plastecowood uses waste from the UK and manufactures its Smartawood products in the UK in its factory in Bodelwyddan, North Wales.

Bespoke design and build service

Our skilled and specialist team provides a bespoke service to use Smartawood to assemble both bespoke and popular products which will last and look great indefinitely.

Closed loop opportunity and Circular Economy contributor

Plastecowood also offers the opportunity for waste producers and waste management contractors to engage in sustainable circular or closed loop practices by providing Plastecowood with suitable waste plastic input material and purchasing our Smartawood range of products. Closing the waste loop in this way reduces the carbon footprint normally entailed in dealing with waste and diverts tonnes of material from landfill, reducing disposal costs and acquiring long-lasting, highly economical recycled plastic products.

Smartawood can replace products made from:

  • Timber (hardwood or softwood)
  • Metal
  • Concrete
  • Virgin plastic
